Artist Statement & Bio:

Angela Katona-Batchelor received her M.F.A from Boise State University in 2007. She grew up in Idaho, but currently calls Portland, Oregon home. She is a full time Art Instructor at Portland Community College where she teaches courses in Basic Design and Printmaking. Her most recent studio work consists of a mixture of drawing, painting, printmaking and artist books. Much of Angela’s work incorporates organs, insects and other natural forms to discuss fragility and the fleeting quality of life. Although, her cat Marvin often serves as the subject for less-serious prints as well. An innate curiosity about the world is the driving force behind all of her work.
